6/26/2014 – Total Miles 1028.8
My pack is heavier than it has ever been. I have to carry enough food to get through the 100 mile wilderness. Looks like the bad weather has passed and I should have a few good days. I wont have signal to provide blog updates for a week or so, but I will try to check-in a few times a day with my GPS unit. You can follow me here – Follow Me Live
I hope to be at the Wadley Stream Lean-to on sat night. I have the awesome honor of installing a plaque to honor Buffalo Bobby who passed away near this spot on his 3rd AT hike. He was loved by all who had the good fortune to know him. Thank you to his family and Trolley Stop.
The picture is of…well …Tank !
Buffalo Bobby was a pleasure to know. So happy there will be a plaque in his honor. Babs and Steve
This last entry has convinced me of what a small world it really is. I did not know Buffalo Bob but have been following you since you started, if fact just missed meeting you in Maryland when my wife and I completed the Maryland Section. Anyway, I Googled Buffalo Bob and wouldn’t you know he was a resident Brick NJ where I currently live. Gods speed sir.
Thank you so much for honoring our father..
He really loved the trail and everyone he met..
All I can say is…AWESOME! Thanks Tank
Be safe! We dropped our kids back off last weekend at pigeon gap. We encountered a large rattlesnake across the trail. The AT will be forever a place of bravery and resilience. Excited to hear of your posts.
Send me your ETA at Mt. Washington!!!!!!!!!!!!
